Kevin Lyons Biography

Kevin Lyons heads the Procurement Team for the Rutgers University – RIAS Project. As an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate Department of Public Policy and Administration, Kevin develops and conducts research on national and international Environmental Contract Management policy and programs. Kevin is also assigned to the New Jersey EcoComplex as a Program Associate were he investigates and implements local environmental/economic development initiatives via the purchasing contract. As part of his international sustainable procurement work, Kevin is working with Colombia and Peru on sustainable procurement and waste management policy and contracts and with the UK Government (via the World Wildlife Federation – UK (WWF-UK) on implementing Best Value Procurement and Local Agenda 21 Policy throughout the UK.

Kevin is also involved in several life-cycle assessment research projects including (product waste profiles via bar code and Oracle ‘green’ commodity coding and waste profile systems). Prior to the Rutgers RIAS Project his previous position was head of purchasing, Rutgers University – Camden Campus.

Kevin is currently a Ph.D. Candidate at the University of Sunderland, Sunderland, England where his dissertation will be defended in the Spring 2002.
